Day 4: Countryside Scooter & Quade Bike Ride
08 AM, our guide and the scooter driver (a tuk-tuk is available to ride instead of a scooter if you prefer a tuk-tuk better) pick you up and ride you to Phsar Leu, the biggest local market in Siem Reap. Easily twice the size of Old Market (Siem Reap’s largest tourist market). Then it’s time to explore: our tour guide will explain to you the activities of the market, including how the locals trade their clothes, toys, electronics, gold, dishware, fish, meats, and vegetables – most of what we have for sale we can find in here. Breakfast! Our guide will help you to select available food in the market as your breakfast. Then it’s time to ride through the back streets of Siem Reap to the countryside where you can closely view the daily activities of farmers such as vegetable gardens, rice paddies, lotus farms, and fishing. We will be meeting local farm animals such as cows, water buffalo, ducks, and chickens. During this part of the ride, we’ll have lots of stops if desired to interact with locals. If you like why not join in with their work? Also, you can learn how to throw the fishing nets in the pond. Drinks and snacks are provided on tour (mineral water and local snacks/fruits). Lunch at the local restaurant before we return to Siem Reap.
Until 4 PM, our guide and driver transfer you to the quad bike office, where you will start riding the ATV.
Riding the road less traveled in rural villages and communities, including a visit to the rice paddy field, Water Buffalos, Cambodian Buddhism Monastery, and stopping at one of the lotus farms to view the sunset and enjoy the cold drinks with local snacks. After sunset, ride our quad bikes back to Siem Reap. Dinner is on your own

You get to experience Cambodia authentically and at the ground level- the awesome ancient temples, the horrifying but important political history and the resilient, friendly people and their present day life/livelihoods. I cannot recommend Merry Travel and Sam enough! Our trip was a 10 out of 10!Trek7907062023-03-05Just the right level of support Sam seems to intuitively know when to explain and when to let us discover things for ourselves. The discovery of Angkor Wat--truly one of the great treasures of humanity--unfolded flawlessly in this way: unhurried, flowing, and awe-inspiring. I have taken 5 groups of students and 2 groups of adults. In addition, I have recommended at least 3 other friends to work with him. If you want professionalism and fairness, Sam is the person for you. Merry Travel is an outstanding business and I cannot applaud it enough. We did 3 days of cycling in Angkor Wat, then went to Phnom Penh and then Kampot. Sam worked out all the transfers and we had excellent guides, including Sam himself. He knows what it takes to make the customer happy and he is very even-keeled in his approach.Kamal2023-02-11Fantastic Autoventure Experience Fantastic Autoventure holidays in Cambodia from the day we enter Cambodia (Poipet) till we depart for Vietnam via Bavet checkpoint.
