On arrival, Sambor Prei Kuk Temples meets a local temple guide. He/she will guide you through the temples, and learn the old history of this Sambor Prei Kuk from the 6th – 8th Century.
Lunch at the local restaurant, and drive to Kampong Chhnang through the rice paddies and small villages. Take a local ferry to cross The Tonle Sap River to reach Kampong Chhnang City Center. Check-in at the hotel upon arrival, and relax until 5 pm, we take a drive around the city, visit the local market, and have dinner at the local restaurant.

Transport: Private vehicle and driving guide
Meals: lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Sovann Phum Hotel (superior room) or a similar hotel
Day 2: Kampong Chhnang – Battambang
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit a pottery village, it is famous for its beautiful landscape and local villages that produce pottery in the midst of the rice fields. Visit this community and learn how the community makes pottery the traditional way and observe how sugar is collected from the sugar palm trees. Let your driving guide assist you with translating if you are interested to learn more about village life. And continue to drive to visit Kampong Luong Floating Village in Pusat, and take the boat ride to visit this mall floating community. Then proceed to Battambang.
On Arrival at Battambang, check in at the hotel and take a quick refreshment, then we drive to visit the pre-Angkor temple of Phnom Banon and take Bamboo Train Ride before we continue to Phnom Sampeav which is the bat cave and a monastery on the top of the natural mountain. View the rice paddies, palm trees, and villages from the top of the mountain, and also visit the natural cave where the ancient people lived in the old time.
Return to the foot of the mountain and wait to watch the bats that will fly out of the cave after dark and enjoy a soft drink or a local beer before we get back to have dinner in Battambang.

Accommodation: Delux Villa or a similar standard hotel
Day 3: Battambang – Banteay Chhmar Temple – Siem Reap
Breakfast at the hotel.
Pay a visit to the Battambang Museum, which houses some interesting lintels and artifacts from the region. Bid farewell to Battambang and drive 2.5 hours further northwest to the seldom-visited northwestern province of Banteay Meanchey. This province is home to the ancient temple of Banteay Chhmar, which is also referred to as the “Fortress of the Cat”. This large temple is rarely visited by tourists due to its remoteness, thus it makes a refreshing change from the crowds at Angkor Wat. Severe looting has prevented archaeologists from understanding the temple and its function in detail, leaving its use to speculation. A low-key community tourism project has recently been established in the village to help the poor people taking care of the temple to supplement their incomes. Upon arrival, the local community will welcome you and members will join you to visit the temple explaining its history. Continue your transfer to Siem Reap arriving mid-afternoon (lunch en route).
Dinner and accommodation are not included
Included for the day:
Transport: Private vehicle and driving guide
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Kris M2023-03-09 This is the way to experience Cambodia! Merry Travel/ Sam is an excellent tour guide and the tour is perfectly curated . You get to experience Cambodia authentically and at the ground level- the awesome ancient temples, the horrifying but important political history and the resilient, friendly people and their present day life/livelihoods. I cannot recommend Merry Travel and Sam enough! Our trip was a 10 out of 10! Trek7907062023-03-05 Just the right level of support Sam seems to intuitively know when to explain and when to let us discover things for ourselves. The discovery of Angkor Wat--truly one of the great treasures of humanity--unfolded flawlessly in this way: unhurried, flowing, and awe-inspiring. Thanks to Sam and the Merry Travel team for an unforgettable experience! I have taken 5 groups of students and 2 groups of adults. In addition, I have recommended at least 3 other friends to work with him. If you want professionalism and fairness, Sam is the person for you. Merry Travel is an outstanding business and I cannot applaud it enough. We did 3 days of cycling in Angkor Wat, then went to Phnom Penh and then Kampot. Sam worked out all the transfers and we had excellent guides, including Sam himself. He knows what it takes to make the customer happy and he is very even-keeled in his approach.
