We suggest arriving at the Cambodian border between 10:00 AM. The border in Vietnam is called Ha Tien, and on the Cambodian side, it’s known as Prek Chak. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our guide, who will assist you with obtaining a visa on arrival (please note the Visa fee of US$30, payable in cash), processing your immigration stamp, and ensuring a smooth border crossing. The crossing typically takes about 20-30 minutes. Afterward, we’ll drive to Kep City—only 25 km from the border—for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing swim at Kep Beach before continuing our journey to Kampot. On the way, we’ll stop to visit a Kampot pepper plantation and observe the salt fields, immersing ourselves in local agriculture. We arrive in Kampot around 4:30 PM, check in at the hotel, and have free time to relax. Later, in the late afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat ride along the Kampong River to witness a stunning sunset, followed by dinner at a local restaurant, completing a day filled with beautiful sights and cultural experiences.
Included for the day:
Transport: Private vehicle and driver
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Castle Bayview Kampot (deluxe room) or a similar standard hotel
At around 6:30 AM, start your day with a visit to Kampot Market, the largest market in southern Cambodia, where your guide will lead you through bustling stalls selling cloth, shoes, fish, meats, vegetables, and more. You’ll then explore the lively food hall, sampling a variety of local snacks, fruits, and dishes for breakfast. After enjoying your morning, we’ll return to the lodge for check-out and begin the approximately four-hour drive to Phnom Penh, with a few interesting stops along the way. Our first stop is Phnom Chhngok, an ancient cave atop a small mountain featuring a Buddhist temple on one side and a 5th-century Funan Era temple cave on the western side. Continuing our journey, we’ll have lunch in Ta Keo City, then embark on a thrilling 50-minute speedboat ride across flooded areas and an old canal, offering an authentic glimpse into rural Cambodia away from tourist crowds. Upon arrival, visit the historic Angkor Borie Museum and explore Phnom Da, a hill with two remaining temples dating back to the 11th century, built on foundations from the Funan period, with caves around its base. After exploring Phnom Da, we’ll continue the drive directly to Phnom Penh. Arriving in the capital around 5:00 PM, the tour concludes with drop-off services; dinner and accommodation are not included, allowing you the flexibility to plan your evening as you wish.

Cambodia is an amazing land to see by bike!!! Thank you for the good carePosted on MB100BxllsVerified Amazing self-guided bike tour in Cambodia! Just completed an amazing self-guided bespoke ebike tour with Merry Travel/Cambodia bikes. We are both 60 plus regular cyclists who normally travel ourselves, however with little planning time and this being our first visit to the region sought local guidance. So glad we did. The planning, which was initially done through Mr Biker Saigon, as we were doing similar tours in Vietnam, was seamless and provided for a more interesting tour than had we planned it ourselves. We provided a rough 'request list' and timings and they proposed routes incorporating several additional activities including trekking, kayaking and dolphin watching. Routes were provided on Bike with GPS and also a list of accommodation. All of which were in interesting places and local commmunity orientated, which we liked. The routes, which were generally on quiet and always interesting side roads and often gravel tracks - took us through amazing countryside, small villages and finally on a beautiful journey following the Mekong into Phnom Penh. We also had a vehicle which loosely followed us and our driver Makara - himself a cyclist - supported us with everything from transfers, bike maintenance when needed and interpretation. He also found us some nice coffee and food stops!! Overall a fantastic adventure. We loved the space and adventure afforded by self-guiding, but with the excellent backup support provided by Sam at Merry Travel and Makara throughout the journey. Thank-you!Posted on Joanne GVerified Best bike trip ever in Vietnam and Cambodia !!! we had a wonderful trip with Cambodia cycling tour ; Southern Vietnam and then to Siem Reap . A group of friends spent 10 days with Merry travel cycling in Vietnam and Cambodia. It was the best trip I have ever had. We cycled thru neighborhoods in the Mekong delta. Our guide expertly provided insight and info. He was a perfect cycling guide adding a rich cultural experience as well as great biking.Posted on TrevVerified 5 stars out of 5. Everything was perfect. We did a tailor made cycle tour with Merry Travel. From our communication with Sam, through to the actual tour with Zil and 'T', everything was brilliant. Sam listened to what we wanted to do, the sport of places we wanted to stay and organised everything from beginning to end. We didn't want to use tourist style chain hotels, and Sam found wonderful smaller locally run hotels. Perfect for us. Zil, our cycle guide and 'T', our driver couldn't have been better. All the places we stopped for lunch and snacks were just great. Just when we thought we couldn't cycle any further, 'T' appeared out of nowhere with fresh fruit, cold water and cold towels. Absolutely fabulous.Posted on nickyelliott09Verified Excellent cycling trip Thank you to Merry Travel for quickly putting together a cycling day tour of the countryside around Siem Reap for our family. Sam, Zil and Wah were fantastic. We felt safe at all times and the bicycles were excellent quality. We were able to sample local food, try basket weaving, enjoy the scenery and finished with delicious lunch prepared especially for our group.
