Day 1: Siem Reap – Farmhouse

Join us for an unforgettable first day of a 2-day adventure starting at 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at our adventure office in Siem Reap City Center on Wat Bo Road. During the meeting, our guide will brief you on safety and assist with bike fitting before we begin. We’ll ride the first 10 km towards West Baray and Kok Dong Village, with a visit to the Angkor Silk Farm along the way. Continuing along the ancient Angkor Highway, your guide will share stories about King Jayavarman VII, one of the most powerful Khmer monarchs, who built many temples across Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos. This historic route connected Angkor in Siem Reap to Phimai in Thailand, and remnants like old bridge foundations can still be seen as evidence. Along the ride, we’ll make several stops in villages to observe villagers’ daily life before arriving at the farmhouse. Here, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local family with a cold refreshing drink, and you’ll have time to relax and freshen up. Then, take a walk through the farm to learn about their activities before heading to a scenic sunset spot overlooking rice fields, where you can enjoy cold drinks, mineral water, or beer. The evening concludes with an authentic dinner prepared and cooked by the family right at the farmhouse, offering a genuine rural experience, followed by an overnight stay in a hammock (noting that farm stays involve sleeping in the traditional manner; if preferred, the family can provide a mattress inside a hut for more comfort).

Day 2: Farmhouse – Tonle Sap Lake Kayaking – Siem Reap

After a hearty breakfast at the farmhouse and saying goodbye to your hosts, you’ll continue your cycling journey, riding approximately 25 km from the farmhouse to Tonle Sap Lake. Along the way, you’ll stop to observe villagers working in the rice fields and flooded forests, areas rich with rice paddies and water buffalo. This setting offers a glimpse into daily rural life and traditional farming practices. Upon arrival at the pier, you’ll embark on a local long-tail boat to visit Wat Chheu Khmao, a wooden pagoda situated on a small island in the middle of Tonle Sap Lake, between Siem Reap and Battambang provinces. The architecture, combining concrete and wood, makes this pagoda uniquely striking. You will meet local monks and learn about the sacred stories, beliefs, and cultural traditions associated with the temple. Next, take a walk through Treak Village, a stilt house community, to see how villagers go about their daily lives. The boat then continues further into Tonle Sap Lake to visit Prek Toal Floating Village, the largest floating community on the lake. Here, you’ll enjoy a home-hosted lunch aboard a floating house. Afterward, visit Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary, where you can observe many waterbird species and possibly some endangered or rare birds. The boat ride continues to Mechrey Village, where you can kayak through the mangrove forests, immersed in natural beauty. Finally, you’ll reach the other side of Tonle Sap Lake to catch the pier, cycle another 30 km back to Siem Reap, and conclude your adventure at our office.
