Leaving the city behind us, we’ll head west towards the Thai border. We’ll have the option of taking tarmac, dirt roads, or trails as we glide past lakes and alongside rivers. We’ll be stopping for lunch beside a large reservoir before continuing to the French colonial town of Battambang. For the brave ones of you amongst us, you’ll even have the chance to sample grilled rats at one of the roadside BBQS. It tastes like chicken! On arrival at Battambang, check-in and free at leisure
Dinner on your own account (our guide will bring you to one of the best local restaurants in town)
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 200km
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Lunch
Accommodation: Classy Hotel or a similar standard hotel
Day 2: Battambang – Samlout – Pramouy
After a short cruise out of Battambang, we’ll arrive at Phnom Sampov: a small mountain that was the main stage of the Khmer Rouge’s major atrocities. We’ll visit the gruesome killing caves and see the guns that the Vietnamese were able to use to stave off the Khmer Rouge after they’d taken hold of the mountain. We have some great riding options for the day ahead of us: ride the trails of ‘Sticky Land’, an area that has rightfully earned that name because of the mud on the ground during the wet season, tackle some difficult, rocky terrain or stick to a winding dirt road that passes over some 50 small bridges. Check-in at the guesthouse upon arrival at the Pramouy, dinner is on your own (our guide will recommend a place where to eat good food).
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 180km
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Pramouy Guesthouse (Clean and good A/C room) or a similar standard hotel
Day 3: Pramouy – Koh Kong
We’ll hit a dirt road in the morning that passes through steep hills and provides some breathtaking views of the terrain below. We then have the option of taking some technically challenging routes through the thick jungle or we can stick to Chinese-built mountainous roads and visit a couple of impressive waterfalls along the way. Tonight’s destination is Koh Kong, a riverside town close to the border of Thailand.
Upon arrival at the hotel in Koh Kong, we check-in, and late afternoon, our guide will arrange the tuk-tuk for you to ride to Peam Kralaop Wild Sanctuary to take a boat ride to view the biggest Mangrove forest in Southeast Asia and return to the hotel. Dinner is on your own (our guide will recommend you one of the best restaurants in town).
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 210km
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Apex Koh Kong Hotel or a similar standard hotel
Day 4: Koh Kong – Free day
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today free at leisure.
Lunch and dinner are on your own

Day 5: Koh Kong – Chi Phat
Today can be easy or difficult: it’s up to you to decide! The harder option will tackle steep and technically trying, rocky hills, a number of bridges, river crossings, and some fun single-track trails. The easier route will stick to smoother roads that wind through the mountains and we’ll also visit the impressive Tatai waterfall along the way.
On arrival at the Chi Phat community center, welcomed by the hosts and they will bring us to check in at one of the local hours (homestay) and get refreshments.
Late afternoon, enjoy the slow boat ride along the Chi Phat River to view the sunset and enjoy a local beer or soft drink during the boat ride.
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 120km
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Homestay in Chi Phat Community
Day 6: Chi Phat – Sre Ambel – Kirirom
Breakfast at the community center.
Today is an awesome ride on loads of deep sandy single tracks, rocky climbs, rutted descents, river crossings, and more. You should arrive in Srae Ambel town for lunch, and then continue to ride on the Kirirom Mountain Ranges through the pine trees and lush jungle to Vkirirom Resort.
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 150km

Breakfast at the resort.
You will leave Kirirom National Park on a mixture of red-graded dirt roads and a sandy single track that cut through the surrounding countryside. You will cut across the Tonle Sap River in Kampong Chhnang by a local ferry. There will be some fast riding on the open flood plains in parts, but some serious ruts, so you have to be careful. Then, a series of rice fields and a single track will take you to Kampong Thom.
Included for the day:
Motorcycle: 250km
Tour guide: English-speaking guide
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Gloria Hotel & Spa or a similar standard hotel

The rest will be a fun and easy ride to Siem Reap. Dinner and accommodation are not included.

Kris M2023-03-09 This is the way to experience Cambodia! Merry Travel/ Sam is an excellent tour guide and the tour is perfectly curated . You get to experience Cambodia authentically and at the ground level- the awesome ancient temples, the horrifying but important political history and the resilient, friendly people and their present day life/livelihoods. I cannot recommend Merry Travel and Sam enough! Our trip was a 10 out of 10! Trek7907062023-03-05 Just the right level of support Sam seems to intuitively know when to explain and when to let us discover things for ourselves. The discovery of Angkor Wat--truly one of the great treasures of humanity--unfolded flawlessly in this way: unhurried, flowing, and awe-inspiring. Thanks to Sam and the Merry Travel team for an unforgettable experience! NETraveler2023-03-04 Highly Recommend Merry Travel The tour guides at Merry Travel are very knowledgeable and fun to travel with. I have taken 5 groups of students and 2 groups of adults. In addition, I have recommended at least 3 other friends to work with him. If you want professionalism and fairness, Sam is the person for you. Merry Travel is an outstanding business and I cannot applaud it enough. We did 3 days of cycling in Angkor Wat, then went to Phnom Penh and then Kampot. Sam worked out all the transfers and we had excellent guides, including Sam himself. He knows what it takes to make the customer happy and he is very even-keeled in his approach.
