08.30 am, our guide meets you in Phnom Penh at the meeting point. He/she will take around 20 minutes to brief you on the tour itinerary and safety. Then we start to ride our bikes down to the Mekong River to take a ferry ride to cross to another side and ride through the weaving villages. After stopping to visit one family doing silk weaving, we continue to ride to visit two islands in the Mekong River (Koh Oukatey and Koh Dach). High tea in the village at Bong Thea’s house (snacks, fruits, drinks), and continue to ride along the riverside of Mekong, upstream to Kampong Cham. We aim to ride between 60-70km today and the rest will be transferred by the support vehicle to the destination of Kampong Cham.
Check-in at the hotel upon arrival, the late afternoon the guide and driver will drive you to visit the local village in Koh Pen (one of the islands in the Mekong River in Kampong Cham Province). The interesting of Koh Pen is the Bamboo Bridge, the longest bamboo bridge in Cambodia, it is built only in the dry season (lower water period from December to June). Our tour guide will walk you through this bamboo bridge to the island, visit the village, local farms, and Buddhist monastery, and drive back to have dinner in Kampong Cham downtown.

Day 5: Preah Vihear – Koh Ker – Siem Reap Cycling
Early morning ride from Preah Vihear downtown to Koh Ker temples, 75km. Today we want to make it a longer ride than other days since the road is very smoothly paved and not many things to stop to visit but of course, at the end of the ride we will visit the Koh Ker temples, have breakfast, and snacks will be provided on the way during the ride. Lunch at the local restaurant at the Koh Ker temple complex, and then we visit Koh Ker temples before heading out to Siem Reap. Koh Ker was built in the 10th century and functioned briefly as the Khmer Empire’s capital between 928 and 944 A.D. The style of the Koh Ker temple is different from any other temple in Cambodia and has more of a resemblance to the ancient pyramids of Egypt. Partially overgrown by the forest and inhabited only by birds, this temple and its surroundings are an exceptional experience. Transfer by our support vehicle to Siem Reap, arriving at around 5 pm. Drop off – end of service, dinner, and accommodation are not included.
Included for the day:
Cycling: 75km
Transport: Private vehicle and driver
Tour guide: English-speaking guide

Kris M2023-03-09 This is the way to experience Cambodia! Merry Travel/ Sam is an excellent tour guide and the tour is perfectly curated . You get to experience Cambodia authentically and at the ground level- the awesome ancient temples, the horrifying but important political history and the resilient, friendly people and their present day life/livelihoods. I cannot recommend Merry Travel and Sam enough! Our trip was a 10 out of 10! Trek7907062023-03-05 Just the right level of support Sam seems to intuitively know when to explain and when to let us discover things for ourselves. The discovery of Angkor Wat--truly one of the great treasures of humanity--unfolded flawlessly in this way: unhurried, flowing, and awe-inspiring. Thanks to Sam and the Merry Travel team for an unforgettable experience! I have taken 5 groups of students and 2 groups of adults. In addition, I have recommended at least 3 other friends to work with him. If you want professionalism and fairness, Sam is the person for you. Merry Travel is an outstanding business and I cannot applaud it enough. We did 3 days of cycling in Angkor Wat, then went to Phnom Penh and then Kampot. Sam worked out all the transfers and we had excellent guides, including Sam himself. He knows what it takes to make the customer happy and he is very even-keeled in his approach.
