Day 1: Banlung – Voensai

We’ll pick you up at 08:30 AM to take you to Voensai. We’ll board small boats that will in turn take us a short distance along the Sesan river until we reach the mouth of the O’Lalai river. We’ll continue the boat ride for another 7 km to drop in on the Kok Lak and La Lai communities where we will settle in at the house of the chief of Tra village. We’ll then begin our walk through patches of forests and rice fields. Around noon we’ll have lunch at a small, local farm house. The forest becomes denser as we proceed northward. We’ll arrive at our campsite around 16:00. Later we’ll go on a nocturnal safari around the campsite looking for native animals such as the lorys, pigmies and civets

Day 2: Jungle Trek

This part of the trek will be largely off-beaten track. At some point, we will provide you with machetes so you can cut your way through the vegetation. After a short stretch, we’ll reach the giant trees of the Virachey Forest, which floats in a sea of mist and lush vegetation. We’ll take an hour to break for lunch and enjoy the sights and sounds of a small nearby river. Afterwards, we’ll continue through the jungle, looping southwest. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at a farm where the local Kavet people will welcome us into their homes for a night. You’ll have time to explore the village, socialize or just relax. Dinner will be provided by your host family and your guide will be happy to serve as an interpreter.

Day 3: Jungle Trek – Banlung

We’ll leave in the morning at 08:30 a.m. and trek south back towards Tra Village, where we should arrive in the early afternoon. While your guide prepares lunch for you, feel free to explore the village. After lunch, we’ll boat back to Voensai. From there, transport will be waiting for you to take you back to Banlung. We should arrive back at Balung around 4:00PM.
